The fruit contains needed potassium, and the strawberries contain anthocyanin antioxidants. The carrot juice is especially high in carotenoid antioxidants. The banana, if slightly underripe, will be rich in resistant starch. The yogurt provides important probiotics. If using peanut butter, you get an extra hit of protein for energy plus monounsaturated fatty acids, and the cinnamon helps regulate blood sugar.
1 medium banana
¾ cup (180ml) cut up ripe strawberries, frozen (can use packaged 100% fruit)
½ cup (120ml) carrot juice
½ cup (120ml) apple juice
½ cup (120ml) vanilla or plain live culture yogurt
1 rounded tsp. (7.5 g) natural peanut butter (optional)
¼ tsp. (1 g) ground cinnamon (optional)
Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until completely smooth. Serve immediately.
